 Parks and Benches
Parks and street benches are where lovers sit and kiss - unaware whilst the world moves by. This is a choice of the most romantic and magical spots - so you too can enjoy this most French activity!

Jardin des Tuileries 1st arrondissement, Métro Tuileries or Concorde History has declared this most central of Paris's parks - "The Lovers Park". For centuries it has attracted wayward lovers, aristocrats, bourgeois, working class, prostitutes, hetero and homo sexual. Today love birds gather around the ponds and the gardens still remain a place for all kinds of lovers!
Place des Vosges
4th arrondissement, Métro Bastille, Chemin Vert, or Saint Paul
The most beautiful of Paris's squares is also known for one of its most famous residents - Victor Hugo who lived on the second floor of No.6 between 1832 and 1848, where he wrote Les Miserables. Other famous past residents include Cardinal Richelieu. The gardens are an ideal place for a rendezvous on a Sunday afternoon or an evening during the summer when a large cinema screen plays old films.
Luxembourg Gardens and the Medicis Fountain
6th arrondissement, RER Luxembourg
Open during daylight hours, the best place for a romantic walk is around the Medicis fountain. Statues represent characters from Greek mythology, youthful lovers and passionate scenes that caused much heated debate. Don't be prudish!
Le square des Poètes
16th arrondissement, Entrance Avenue du Général-Sarrail,
Métro Porte d'Auteuil

Newlyweds, those celebrating anniversaries and couples come to stroll in the park of poets. Moliere, Racine, Lamartine, Baudelaire, Mallarmé all rest here. Sit on one of the benches and be inspired just as Rosemonde Gérard: "a familiar bench, all green with moss, on this bench from long ago we again will come to chat, sharing sweet tender joy, each phrase sealed with a kiss"
Square des Batignolles
17th arrondissement, Métro Brochant
A perfect setting for a wedding! This pretty little park is unknown to the tourists and an ideal place to propose. The setting is stunningly romantic in the spring when the birds are singing and the blood-red tulips are in flower. One small detail however. In centuries past, near to the entrance of the park, parts of women hacked apart where discovered in the bushes. But no need to worry, weddings don't usually take place at night!
Jardin Saint Vincent
18th arrondissement, 17 rue Saint Vincent,
Métro Lamark Caulaincourt

The true garden of mother nature and a perfect spot the modern day Adam and Eve. Only wild plants grow here. This little paradise however is only open to lovers from April to October because the rest of the year the beautiful plants must rest!
Parc de la Turlure
18th arrondissement, Rue du Chevalier de la Barre or rue de la Bonne
The hordes of tourists around the nearby Sacré Cœur are completely unaware of this cozy little park with wonderful views of Paris. Indeed only the locals seem to know of its existence which is an ideal place to contemplate your love and your evening ahead before heading of for a drink at the nearby Lapin Agile!
Buttes Chaumont
19th arrondissement, Métro Buttes-Chaumont
This Park was built thanks to Emperor Napoleon III. An admirer of English landscaping, between 1865 and 1867 he created what is now one of Paris's most charming parks. An ideal place for a smooch is at the top of the park at the belvedere. It was from this very same spot that on September 30th 1814 Czar Alexander I gave the order to cease combat after seeing Paris in flames!
The greenhouses of Auteuil
14th arrondissement, RER Cité Université
This is a perfect place to meet your future love, a well known pick-up place! Once you've found the 'one' take them on a walk beneath the beech tree branches and toward the Bonbonniere and treat him/her to a most delicious ice cream!
Bois de Boulogne
16th arrondissement, Métro Porte d'Auteuil or Porte Dauphine
The city's most legendary and largest park, known to Parisians as "Le Bois". Formerly a royal forest and hunting ground, this vast 2200-acre reserve is a favourite place for cyclists, runners and walkers ... and lovers around the lake. Rent a small boat and take your love to enjoy a secluded picnic on one of the small islands. At night, the Le Bois welcomes a very different population and becomes the red district of Paris.
